# News

> Browse News in Discover, open source-backed articles, set local context, and continue from an article in chat.

News helps you browse current stories in Babbily, review sources, and keep going from an article in chat.

## Browse News

Open **News** from the sidebar. In the app, the page may appear as **Discover**. Babbily shows a feed based on your selected topic and location.

Available categories include:

* Top.
* Tech & Science.
* Business.
* Arts & Culture.
* Finance.
* Sports.
* Entertainment.

The **Finance** tab opens the dedicated [Finance](/features/finance) area instead of a normal news feed.

  When you select **Sports**, Babbily may show a live scores ticker above the news feed when current sports data is available.

## Set your location

News can use local context to make the feed more relevant.

    Use the location field near the topic tabs to enter a city or country.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use current location if needed">
    Click the location icon to use your current device or browser location when permissions allow it.

  <Step title="Clear local context">
    Use the clear control when you want to return to a broader country-level feed.

Your saved profile location can also help Babbily choose relevant News results. You can review it in **Settings > Profile**.

## Use the News side rail

The News side rail can show helpful context beside the feed:

* **Weather** for the selected location.
* **Market Outlook** with market rows that open Finance pages.
* **Trending Companies** with company links, prices, and daily movement when available.

These panels can be temporarily unavailable if current data cannot be reached. Your main News feed may still work while a side rail panel refreshes.

## Open an article

Select a story to open the article view. Babbily can generate a readable article from the available headline, summary, metadata, and cited sources.

Articles can include:

* A generated article body.
* Source citations.
* An image when one is available.
* The source domain and publish timing when available.
* The story category.

Use citations to open the original source material before relying on important details.

## Continue from an article in chat

After an article loads, use the composer at the bottom of the article to ask follow-up questions. Babbily attaches bounded article context to the new chat so you can ask for a summary, timeline, open questions, or source comparison.

Examples:

## Usage impact

Browsing the News feed uses current app data. Generating a full article uses AI work and can have separate rate limits or availability rules from normal chat. If Babbily shows a usage or availability message, follow the in-product guidance.

## Troubleshooting

If News does not show what you expect:

* Update the location field and refresh News.
* Try a broader location, such as a country instead of a city.
* Switch to **Top** if a category has few current stories.
* Open citations when a generated article mentions a source.
* Wait and retry if News, weather, market rows, or trending companies are temporarily unavailable.
