Babbily includes built-in tools that help a chat do more than answer from the selected model alone. Use this reference when you want to choose a tool manually or understand why Babbily used one in Auto tool mode.
Tool availability can vary by model, plan, remaining API usage budget, account state, and tool mode. If a tool is hidden, try a supported model, switch from Off to Auto or Manual, and check your usage.

Choose a tool mode

Tool mode is separate from the model picker. Choosing Auto in the model picker lets Babbily pick the model; Auto tool mode lets Babbily pick the tools.

Built-in tools

Use web search for focused questions that need current public sources.Good uses include vendor pricing, product comparisons, recent news, current policies, public facts, and source-backed summaries.Try:
Search can add up to three pictures above the answer when the subject is something you can see or when you ask to see it, for example Show me photos of the new terminal building. Follow-up questions get pictures only when you ask, and Babbily leaves out logos, icons, ads, and unrelated pictures. Verify high-stakes answers with authoritative sources.
Use deep research when you need a broader, multi-source report instead of a quick lookup. The Deep Research Agent plans sub-questions, opens the report outline in Canvas, gathers evidence, and streams a cited report.Good uses include competitive briefs, policy research, vendor comparisons, market landscapes, and strongest-argument summaries.Try:
Deep research can take several minutes and may use more API usage budget. If evidence gathering reaches its time limit, Babbily finishes from the available sources and tells you coverage is partial. If writing reaches its limit, Canvas keeps the written portion and labels it incomplete. Reports cite text sources and do not include search pictures.
Use site map to inventory, review, or summarize public pages on a website.Good uses include finding product pages, checking documentation coverage, auditing public links, or discovering what a public site contains.Try:
Site map reviews website structure. It does not map geographic places. Private, login-only, blocked, or heavily dynamic pages may be incomplete.
Use finance research in chat for company, market, earnings, filings, peer, or financial-topic research.Good uses include public company summaries, earnings context, market comparisons, historical context, and financial source review. For the dedicated Finance workspace, see Finance.In a supported chat started from Finance, Auto tool mode uses Finance research automatically. Manual starts with the tool enabled for that Finance thread, and Off disables tools. The Finance context and setting stay with follow-ups and Retry.Try:
Finance research checks the available source coverage and may use primary filings to complete historical comparisons. If a company does not report a requested metric separately, Babbily should explain the limitation instead of guessing. Finance research is informational and should not be treated as financial advice.
Use weather for current conditions and short forecasts by location.Good uses include travel planning, event planning, quick local checks, and comparing forecast windows.Try:
Weather results depend on whether the location can be resolved and current public weather data is available. Do not rely on Babbily for safety-critical weather decisions.
Use stats for supported compact public-data stat cards.Good uses include supported public-data questions such as earthquake counts by date range and magnitude.Try:
For your own KPIs, attach a file, paste the numbers and ask for a visual summary, or use a connected spreadsheet app when available.
Use QR code to create a scannable image from a public link or non-sensitive text.Good uses include event links, public landing pages, signup forms, and simple labels.Try:
Anyone who can scan the QR code can read the encoded content. Do not put passwords, verification codes, private keys, payment details, or confidential information in a QR code.
Use the Image generation tool to create a new image from a text prompt, or to edit an image you attached or one Babbily generated earlier in the chat. It uses GPT Image 2.5 Flare and works with every chat model. Ask in Auto tool mode, choose Manual > Image generation, or type /create-image. See create and edit images.Good prompts describe subject, style, composition, lighting, shape (square, portrait, or landscape), and constraints.Try:
Image generation can take longer than text replies and usually uses more API usage budget. Review generated media before using it publicly.
Use the Video generation tool to create a short video from a text prompt, animate one image, or edit one video. It uses Grok Imagine Video and works with every chat model when your plan supports it. Ask in Auto tool mode, choose Manual > Video generation, or type /create-video.When you select the tool, the composer shows Video duration (3 to 10 seconds) and Video aspect ratio controls. These controls do not apply when you edit an existing video.Good prompts describe the subject, movement, pacing, and source media.Try:
Video generation can take minutes, uses more API usage budget than many text replies, and may vary by file type, duration, and account state.

Get help with Babbily

Ask a product question in Auto tool mode, such as How do I add an existing chat to a project? Babbily can look up help-center pages and link the relevant instructions. When available, select Babbily Docs from the composer or use /babbily-docs to request this lookup directly. For previous conversations, Babbily can use past-chat lookup in Auto tool mode when memory and the current chat support it. This is separate from searching public websites.

Why a tool may be missing

Try these checks:
  • Explicitly selected tools, such as /create-image, /create-video, /babbily-docs, Manual > Deep research, Manual > Finance research, and Plugin slash commands, are not available with Auto in the model picker, Claude Opus 5.5, or Claude Sonnet 5.5. Use Auto tool mode and ask for what you need, or choose another named model for that request.
  • Switch to a model that supports the tool.
  • Change tool mode from Off to Auto or Manual.
  • Check your remaining API usage budget.
  • Remove conflicting file types or unsupported source media.
  • Reconnect an app if the missing option is a plugin.
