Memory lets Babbily carry useful context from one chat to the next. You can save preferences, work context, recurring projects, and other details you do not want to repeat.
When to use memory
Use memory for context that should help future chats, such as:
- Your role, team, or company.
- Projects you are actively working on.
- Preferred tone, format, or units.
- Reusable work preferences.
- People, products, or accounts that come up often.
For one-time context, keep it in the current message instead of saving it.
Add a memory
The fastest way to save context is to ask in chat:
Remember that I prefer direct answers with a short summary at the end.
You can also add memory from Settings > Memory by using the memory instruction field.
Review your Memory Profile
Open Settings > Memory to see your Memory Profile. Babbily organizes saved context into sections such as work context, personal context, top-of-mind items, recent context, and long-term background.
The profile can change as you add, update, or remove context. Its purpose is to make memory readable so you can understand what Babbily may use.
Memory citations
When Babbily saves or updates memory from a chat, replies may show a memory citation. A citation gives you a short explanation of what changed.
In Settings > Memory, you can expand Show Me All Memory Citations to review saved sources and remove eligible items.
Forget or delete memory
You can remove saved context in two ways:
- Say what to forget in chat or in Settings > Memory.
- Delete an eligible citation from the Memory page.
Deleted memory stops affecting future replies. If a source cannot be deleted from the page, contact support for help removing account-level memory.
Do not save passwords, API keys, verification codes, payment cards, or other secrets in memory. Babbily is designed to avoid saving sensitive items, but you should still keep secrets out of chat.
Turn memory on or off
Profile settings include a memory preference. When memory is off, Babbily does not use saved profile memory to personalize new replies. You can turn it back on when you want Babbily to use your saved context again.
Memory works best for stable preferences. If a detail is temporary, mention it in the current chat instead of saving it.
